AI Chat Assistant

Our website includes an AI-powered chat assistant that helps triage plumbing inquiries and collect your contact details so Alex can follow up. This assistant is provided by Anthropic PBC (Claude, claude-haiku-4-5 model) and runs on our behalf.

• You are interacting with an AI. The chat is clearly labeled "AI Assistant" in its header, and the first message identifies it as such. It is not Alex or a human employee.
• What is processed. Your chat messages, any name / phone / email / address you provide, and the page URL you were on when you opened the chat are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Anthropic does not train on this data under our commercial agreement.
• What is stored. If the conversation results in a lead (you provide a name and contact method), we store your name, contact info, issue summary, and urgency level in our database so Alex can follow up. If no lead is captured, the messages are not retained beyond the Anthropic API call.
• Accuracy disclaimer. AI-generated responses can contain errors and should not be relied on for diagnostic, pricing, or safety decisions. Final pricing, diagnosis, and warranty terms come only from Alex after an on-site assessment.
• Opting out. You are not required to use the chat. You can reach us directly by phone at (619) 977-2772, by text to the same number, or by email at [email protected]. None of those channels use AI.
• Human review. Leads captured by the assistant are reviewed by Alex before any service work is scheduled. The AI never dispatches a plumber or commits to a price on its own.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service providers — Email delivery (Resend), hosting (Vercel), analytics (Google Analytics), AI chat processing (Anthropic PBC), bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and database services that help us operate the website
• Legal requirements — If required by law, regulation, or legal process

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
